Now more than ever, HAVI Global Solutions knows the importance of making our workplaces more environmentally friendly. This global issue is being addressed in the U.S. with the formation of an employee-led Go Green Team with over 30 employees as active members. This volunteer team heads up grassroot initiatives that encourage all employees to reduce, reuse and recycle.

It is the goal of the Go Green Team to encourage open discussions and offer Green suggestions to enhance current workplace practices and policies. The passion of the team leaders like Jenny Young, Luis Vega, Sandy Torres, Mark McKinzie, Chris Karsten, Cindy Boyer, Helen Bugna, Dave Sartore and Anitha Murphy help foster excitement around the issues, educate employees and promote Green behavior. The overall goal is to get everyone working together to make change happen.

Current Go Green team leaders head up programs like the Carpool Initiative and Bike to Work Program to reduce our environmental impact traveling to and from work. The Waste Project Committee has started programs to lessen our printing paper use, electricity consumption and the amount of packaging used to reduce our carbon footprint both at work and at home.  As more employees join Go Green, more teams will be created to spearhead additional green initiatives.

Whether your Green views reside at the business or home level, there is bound to be some area of focus that is important to you and worthy of your time and effort. While every individual can make a difference, it is by working as a team that we can have the biggest success. Together, our grassroots initiative will create positive effects that are felt around the globe now and by future generations.
